Replace legacy operations in configsession.py with vyconf client operations

Description

Use of non-legacy functions will be determined by a global switch while the remaining integration of vyconfd is in development; legacy operations will remain the default until complete.

This will allow running smoketests using the new backend as a necessary milestone towards replacement. It is the second case of updating Python modules that encapsulate the backend config data structure: configtree.py already done; config.py, configquery.py remaining.
