Not had a lot of time recently, but I have kind of been waiting for the configuration nodes to be ported to Python, so that this can be written in the new / modern way.

I have just done a bit of background research to understand this change, after I noticed that the level option was deleted from my VyOS config.

Just found this ticket after upgrading and wondering where the show interfaces pppoe pppoe0 log command had gone. I did find it useful to check why a PPPoE interface hadn't come up.

I installed 1.3-rolling-202003190217 today and verified that it contains the following lines now:

I checked and $ show system kernel-messages | grep pppoe0 did not return any output.

I will have to re-test tonight (when nobody else is using the Internet) and get some log output.

Change was reverted because "libcidr-dev is not available until Debian Buster thus the container can't be built"
