Sounds great @jestabro I'm happy to assist in any way possible
The steps above i can try as a last ditch effort but that means I need to be on site with the device and will require lots of time (and downtime)

Thanks for the help so far @Apachez !
My apologies @Apachez this was on 1.4-rolling-202212310809.
I do not have a 29-30 migrate script

I observed the trace from 1.4-rolling-202306180309 as I was trying to slowly increment up. This was the path I took to get there
grub was very buggy for me in a USB console. I did finally manage to get vyos-config-debug to boot.
I would like to stage this in a VM if I do try the above as physical access to the router is tough. Does anyone know where I can find a ISO for 1.4-rolling-202212310809. It seems the old s3 endpoint doesn't resolve https://s3.vyos.io/rolling/current/vyos-1.4-rolling-202212310809-amd64.iso

Does anyone at least have an example of how to use the snmp exporter? For example a snmp.yml or generate one with the given mibs?

Somewhat related since about November builds of Vyos 1.4 I loose my firewall rules when I reboot and make a configuration change. If I do not make a configuration change it doesn't get wiped from the config. The ip table rules are still present but missing from the config causing a reboot to actually wipe the firewall rules... This is a little scary.

Sadly my firewall rules got wiped on upgrade and I'm a little nervous know about going backwards. I will try one going forward in a week or so.

I wish I understood this subsystem better as I'd love to get it fixed. I'm going to take a closer look tomorrow

It looks like your assessment is correct. It also seems like next-hop IP would be sufficient as well if I wasn't dealing with dynamic WAN IPs. For the moment I'm sticking with interface instead of dhcp-interface. The related issue you sent seems exactly related to this.
