T6489 added a wrapper to work directly with unionfs, in order to avoid the, occasionally needed, context-dependent legacy calls to my_set/my_delete from config-mode scripts running under vyos-configd. This abstraction can easily be adapted to the vyconf/vyos-commitd setting for the cases allowed: namely, silent (== non-actionable) updates of the active config during commit --- the standard example is the addition of an encrypted password and deletion of the submitted plaintext.
