Recently I upgraded my virtual router that was based on 1.5-rolling-202407171706 to 1.5-rolling-202412160007 and noticed that it no longer is reporting its IP to the Qemu hypervisor and no longer listens to the graceful shutdown and reboot initiated from the hypervisor. This is also still happening on 1.5-rolling-202501031241.

@nekocentral this is currently working as expected as all the guest agents got removed from the generic image which is shipped as rolling binary.
I totally understand the issue and need here - as I am also affected by this change. It was placed on the agenda for the next maintainer meeting.

a that explains why it got removed when updating to a new rolling. are there going to be more hypervisor specific versions for rolling in the future like with 1.5 stable or is that something that will be discussed at the meeting?

The official recommendation will be to build new images. A blog post on the flavor system is coming, and it will be in the docs, too.
