I've forked repo and vibe-slopped together a fix - https://github.com/fabrizziop/vyos-1x/tree/T9291-net-name-resolve-keep-no-hw-id-names
Seems to work fine on the same instance I did the upgrade in.
Will submit PR.

I have upgraded all my routers already to 2026-05-16 rolling and the CPU usage problem was fixed.
