We have a generic VyOS flavor suitable for a wide range of boxes and VMs. Its build artifact is an ISO image, in the old Vyatta Core times the Makefile target for it was make iso, and currently its internal flavor name is also "iso".
However, now that flavor names are displayed in show version, that can cause confusion because it will be iso even on installed systems, so people may mistakenly believe that the system was booted from an ISO image, when in reality the system has no ISO images of any kind in it.
I suppose we should rename it to "generic".
