With the Stream train announced, why not use this opportunity to change the VyOS version convention.
I see a lot of value in moving to a major release numbering that increases by 1 with each major release. So equuleus 1.3 should have become VyOS 3. Sagitta 1.4 should have become VyOS 4. Minor versions could have been, say, VyOS 3.8 instead of VyOS 1.3.8. This version numbering scheme is much more appealing and has many justifications, such as the underlying Debian release. Mozilla Firefox, Apple Mac OS and others have already followed the same path.
This is the right way to showcase your work.
