Summary

Today VyOS Stream 2026.03 have an upper limit when setting max memory or shared-memory as 16Gbyte and 8Gbyte:

vyos@vyos# set container name dns memory 
Possible completions:
   <0>                  Unlimited
   <1-16384>            Container memory in megabytes (MB)

vyos@vyos# set container name dns shared-memory 
Possible completions:
   <0>                  Unlimited
   <1-8192>             Container memory in megabytes (MB)

Workaround (sort of) seems to be to set this value to 0 being unlimited.

Request that above max values should be increased unless this is a limit of podman being used for containerization?

Use case

Using containers in VyOS and wish to limit max memory and shared-memory to higher than current max values of 16GB and 8GB without setting these settings to unlimited.
