iKVM keyboard input not delivered to console after boot on Supermicro H11DSi — regression from 1.3.5 to 1.5.0
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

VyOS version: 1.5.0 LTS (Circinus)
Kernel: 6.6.128
Hardware: Supermicro H11DSi motherboard
Access method: IPMI iKVM (ATEN chipset, Vendor 0557 Product 2419)
Previously working on: VyOS 1.3.5

After upgrading from VyOS 1.3.5 to 1.5.0 LTS, keyboard input via IPMI iKVM console stopped working after the system finishes booting. The GRUB menu keyboard works correctly. SSH and Serial over LAN (SoL) are unaffected.

After log analysis, we noticed:

  • No serial console configuration mistmatch on VyOS and GRUB
  • getty is present on serial.

iKVM keyboard input is broken, regression 1.5.0.
