L2TP - Outside address
Closed, WontfixPublicFEATURE REQUEST

Description

Hi,

Would it be feasible to add additional configuration parameters to outside addresses within the L2TP config tree, at the moment it is only possible to set one specific outside address within the L2TP configuration although this works great, it is preventing auto failover scenario, we would like to be able to set multiple addresses or even a wildcard.

To provide as much information as possible, we have two LNS routers configured using VyOS 1.5-rolling-202401150027 each has a unique loopback address which receives the L2TP config requests, however, should one of them go offline or have a hardware failure the traffic destined for LNS A should be sent to LNS B and accepted by the LNS.

In our testing scenario, the L2TP traffic does indeed reach LNS B when LNS A fails, however, the traffic is not accepted due to the unique loopback from LNS A not being present in the outside address configuration, but if it was possible to set multiple this would solve the problem we are seeing.
