iproute2 allows giving routing tables symbolic names by adding entries /etc/iproute2/rt_tables and displays them in the output of ip rule show. Human-readable table names can also be useful for GUIs.

However, we don't have any way to specify table descriptions.

An obvious option is set protocols static table <num> description <desc>.
